Premium Research TERMS OF SERVICE

BY SUBSCRIBING TO BANKER ON WHEELS PREMIUM RESEARCH YOU ARE CONSENTING TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS OUTLINED BELOW.

Operator: Banker on Wheels, registered office Unit 13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Lytchett Matravers, Poole, United Kingdom, BH16 6FA ("Banker on Wheels", "Bankeronwheels.com", "we", "us").

These Terms & Conditions (the "Terms") govern the Banker on Wheels Premium Research Subscription, including access to the BackRoll portfolio backtesting application and all other Premium Content. They apply whether you subscribe as an individual (a "Consumer") or through a company (a "Business Subscriber"), and to any complimentary or invited access we grant at no charge. By purchasing or using the Subscription, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not subscribe. Where these Terms differ from the general Bankeronwheels.com Terms and Conditions, these Terms prevail for the Subscription.

1. DEFINITIONS

  • "Subscription" — the paid Banker on Wheels Premium Research membership on any Plan, together with any complimentary access we grant to the same content.
  • "Plan" — the subscription option you choose at checkout: currently Annual, Three-Year or Lifetime (see §5).
  • "Consumer" — an individual subscribing for purposes wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, craft or profession. "Business Subscriber" — a company, partnership, firm or other organisation, or an individual subscribing for business purposes, but only assigned to one person within that company. "Authorised User" — the one named individual who may use a Subscription (for a Consumer, you).
  • "Premium Content" — everything the Subscription gives access to: premium research, guides and deep dives, the BoW Investing Library, the BoW Toolbox, the Markets Hub app, the Asset Allocation Tool, BackRoll app and, once released, the Rollers Community forum, together with any content or feature we add to the package.
  • "BackRoll" — our portfolio backtesting web application
  • "Market Data" — the financial time series, index reconstructions, prices, returns, inflation, currency and other data made available through BackRoll or any other part of the Premium Content, including data licensed from third-party providers (including Finaeon) and academic data libraries, and our own derived, cleaned, chain-linked or simulated series built from them.
  • "Outputs" — the results BackRoll and other Tools display or generate: charts, summary statistics, backtest metrics, What-If, factor and Monte Carlo results, safe-withdrawal analyses, shared result pages and similar analytical results.
  • "Launch Date" — the date on which access to the Premium Content starts, as announced on our website.
  • "Roadmap Item" — a feature or component we have announced but not yet released, currently the Portfolio & Wealth Tracker (expected 2027/28) and the Rollers Community forum (expected 2027).

2. WHO MAY SUBSCRIBE

2.1 Consumers. The Subscription is offered to individuals aged 18 or over subscribing for their own personal use.

2.2 Business Subscribers. A company, partnership, or firm may subscribe. However, in that case the use is only limited to a single person within that company. Each Subscription covers one named Authorised User; additional users need additional Subscriptions. The Business Subscriber is responsible for its Authorised Users’ compliance with these Terms.

2.3 Whether you are a Consumer or a Business Subscriber, you may not purchase or use the Subscription:

  • to redistribute, resell or sublicense Premium Content or Market Data, or to build or operate any product, service, dataset, index, publication or platform that incorporates Market Data or Outputs for third parties (including data vendors, index providers, fintech or software products and media publications);
  • as a substitute for a data licence — if your organisation needs the underlying Market Data, or wants Outputs embedded in its own products, it needs a separate written agreement and data licence from data vendors (see §2.5);
  • to provide Market Data, systematic tables of Outputs, or bulk Outputs to any third party, whether or not for payment.

2.4 By subscribing you represent and warrant that (a) you are at least 18 years old, (b) if you are a Consumer, you are subscribing with your own funds for your own personal account.

2.5 If you would like access for several users, an enterprise or institutional arrangement, or a licence to the Market Data itself, contact us at contact@bankeronwheels.com; such access requires a separate written agreement and, where data is involved, separate data licensing. Any use outside what these Terms permit is a material breach of these Terms and an infringement of our rights and our data licensors’ rights. In that event we may terminate your access immediately and without refund, and you will be liable for the loss your misuse causes — which may include the fees that proper commercial access and data licensing would have cost for the period of misuse, our reasonable costs of investigation and enforcement, and any losses, claims or licence consequences our data providers raise as a result.

3. WHAT THE SUBSCRIPTION INCLUDES

3.1 The Subscription currently includes the Premium Content listed in §1. We may add, modify, replace or withdraw individual components over time; the Subscription is sold as a package, not as a guarantee of any single component.

3.2 Features marked "Beta" or "New" (including, currently, BackRoll, the Markets Hub and the Asset Allocation Tool) are provided as work-in-progress: they may change substantially over time.

3.3 Roadmap Items. Our website describes features that are still in development. Their scope, timing and price are indicative and may change. A Roadmap Item is not part of the Subscription until we release it. While we aim to keep timelines, a delay or a decision not to release it is not a breach of these Terms and does not entitle you to a refund, except as stated in §5.8 for the Lifetime Plan.

3.4 Access requires a Banker on Wheels account. One Subscription covers one person — you (or, for a Business Subscriber, its named Authorised User).

3.5 BackRoll and the Markets Hub are designed for desktop and laptop browsers; BackRoll is not currently available on phones. You need a current browser and an internet connection.

3.6 Support. We answer questions by email at contact@bankeronwheels.com on a reasonable-efforts basis and may answer common questions through public posts, FAQs or updates rather than individually. We do not guarantee response times, and the Subscription does not include personalised coaching or one-to-one sessions; those are only available under our separate Coaching Terms and Conditions.

3.7 Coaching. Coaching sessions are a separate paid service governed by the Coaching Terms and Conditions. Where we say that Lifetime members receive priority scheduling, we mean that we offer them the earliest available slots first; it is not a guarantee of any particular date or of availability.

3.8 Complimentary access. Where we grant access to Premium Content at no charge (complimentary, trial, partner or invited access), these Terms apply to that access and we may change or withdraw it at any time without liability.

3.9 Rollers Community. When released, the community forum is a member bonus and not an investing forum. You must keep your posts lawful and respectful, must not post personal recommendations to buy or sell investments, and must not post other people’s personal data. You keep the rights in what you post and grant us a right to display and moderate it within the forum. We may remove posts and suspend forum access at our discretion. Nothing posted by members is advice from us.

4. ACCOUNT, ACCESS AND SECURITY

4.1 Your account and Subscription are personal and non-transferable. You must not share your login credentials, access links, or session with anyone else. Members of your immediate household may look at results with you, but they may not use your login.

4.2 Sharing access, or attempting to circumvent access controls (including session controls, rate limits or authentication), is a material breach.

4.3 You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at contact@bankeronwheels.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

4.4 We may suspend access where we reasonably suspect credential sharing, automated access, or a breach of §2, §7 or §8, pending investigation, and may require you to log in again.

4.5 If you delete your Banker on Wheels account, your Subscription ends at the same time; no refund is due except where required by law (see §5.9).

5. PRICE, PAYMENT, RENEWAL, CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS

5.1 Plans and prices. We currently offer three Plans: Annual (billed every year), Three-Year (billed every three years) and Lifetime (a single payment). The price of each Plan is the price displayed at checkout, charged in advance through the payment methods offered at checkout (currently card payments processed by Stripe). Bank transfer is also available upon request. Prices are set in euros; any other currency shown on our website is indicative only, and your bank or card issuer may apply its own exchange rate and fees.

5.2 VAT. Prices on our website are shown both including and excluding VAT. VAT applies only to customers based in the UK or EU. Where VAT applies, it is calculated at checkout based on the customer’s billing country and added to the net price; the amount confirmed at checkout is the total amount payable. UK and EU business customers with a valid VAT registration number may be eligible for the reverse-charge mechanism and may therefore be charged without VAT. UK and EU businesses that believe the reverse charge should apply should contact us before making payment and provide their valid VAT registration details.

5.3 Presale purchases. If you subscribe during a presale window before the Launch Date, we take payment at checkout and your access starts on the Launch Date. Your subscription term runs from the Launch Date, so you receive a full term of access, and for Annual and Three-Year Plans you are next billed only when that full term ends.

5.4 Renewal. Annual and Three-Year Plans renew automatically at the end of each term for a further term of the same length, unless you cancel before the renewal date. The Lifetime Plan does not renew.

5.5 Price lock. Where our website describes a price as locked, that price stays fixed for as long as your Subscription continues without interruption on the same Plan. The lock ends if you cancel, let the Subscription lapse, or change Plan; if you subscribe again later, the price current at that time applies. One exception: if cumulative inflation, measured as simple average of Eurozone HICP and UK CPI between your purchase and a renewal date exceeds 20%, we may increase the renewal price by no more than that cumulative inflation, and we will tell you before the renewal. We may withdraw the price lock for future intakes without affecting a lock you already hold.

5.6 Other price changes. Where no price lock applies, we may change the price of your Plan with at least 30 days’ notice before the renewal at which it takes effect. If you do not wish to pay the new price, cancel before that renewal date.

5.7 Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from your account page or by emailing contact@bankeronwheels.com; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current term and stops future renewals. It does not refund the current term except as stated in §5.9 or where a refund is required by law.

5.8 Lifetime Plan. "Lifetime" means the lifetime of the Premium Research Subscription service, not your lifetime. The Lifetime Plan gives you access to the Premium Content for as long as we continue to offer the Subscription, with no further payments, and includes the Portfolio & Wealth Tracker add-on when it is released. It is personal and non-transferable.

5.9 Right of withdrawal. If you are a Consumer in the UK, the EU or the EEA, you have a legal right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days of the day you subscribe, without giving a reason. It works as follows: (a) Presale purchases — no content was supplied before the Launch Date, so you may cancel within 14 days of your purchase and we will refund you in full, using your original payment method, within 14 days of receiving your cancellation. (b) Purchases where access started immediately — by ticking the terms box at checkout you ask us to start supplying the Premium Content straight away and acknowledge that you waive the right of withdrawal once we have done so; if you cancel before we start, you receive a full refund. To cancel, email contact@bankeronwheels.com with your name, email address and order reference. For the avoidance of doubt, we extend the same rules to any non-EEA and non-UK consumers. Any refund will be made net of payment processing fees that are non-refundable and depend on the payment method and payment country. We will confirm the applicable non-refundable processing fees with you before processing the refund.

5.10 Refund policy. Apart from §5.9 and any other refund required by law, all fees are non-refundable: the Subscription gives access to digital content and services, and we do not offer refunds, trial periods or pro-rata refunds for unused time on any Plan, including when you cancel, change Plan or delete your account.

5.11 Failed or reversed payments. If a payment fails or is reversed (including a card chargeback), we may suspend access until the amount is settled and may recover from you the reasonable costs the reversal causes us. If you believe a charge is wrong, contact us before disputing it with your bank.

5.12 Enrolment windows and refusal. We open enrolment only at certain times and prices may differ between intakes. We may refuse or cancel an order where we reasonably suspect a breach of these Terms, fraud, or a pricing error, in which case we refund any payment taken.

6. LICENCE TO PREMIUM CONTENT

6.1 We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Premium Content, during your Subscription, for your own investing education.

6.2 Except as expressly allowed in these Terms, you must not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, license, frame, or otherwise make any Premium Content available to any third party, in whole or in part, in any medium.

6.3 Short quotations from our written research (not Market Data) for private discussion are fine with attribution; anything more requires our prior written consent.

6.4 All intellectual property in the Premium Content remains with us and our licensors.

6.5 Your content and feedback. You keep the rights in the portfolios, configurations, names and notes you create in BackRoll; you grant us the right to store and process them to provide the service, and you must not include other people’s personal data in them. If you send us suggestions or feedback (including through the in-app suggestion box), we may use them freely without any obligation to you.

7. BACKROLL, THE MARKETS HUB AND MARKET DATA — SPECIAL TERMS

This section is the heart of these Terms. The Market Data behind BackRoll and the Markets Hub is licensed to us by third-party providers under strict conditions. Your Subscription lets you use BackRoll and the Markets Hub; it does not give you the data.

7.1 View-only access. Market Data is made available for on-screen display and analysis within BackRoll and the Markets Hub only. You acquire no ownership of, and no licence to extract or reuse, any Market Data.

7.2 What you may do:

  • run backtests, simulations and analyses within BackRoll and the Markets Hub for your own portfolio decisions;
  • export or screenshot charts (images) and portfolio-level summary statistics for your own records, using the export functions BackRoll and the Markets Hub provide;
  • discuss your own results privately, and share them through the share-link feature of BackRoll and the Markets Hub as described in §7.4.

7.3 What you must not do (each a material breach):

  • download, export, copy, scrape, record, or transcribe any underlying time series (e.g. monthly return, price, index, inflation or currency series), in whole or in part, by any means — including manual transcription, screenshots taken systematically for later extraction, OCR, browser tooling, or interception of network traffic;
  • use AI, robots, crawlers, scripts, macros, bulk queries, or any automated or systematic access, or access BackRoll or the Markets Hub other than through their normal user interface;
  • reconstruct, reverse-engineer or approximate any Market Data series from Outputs;
  • redistribute, publish, resell, sublicense, broadcast or share any Market Data or any substantial part of the Outputs, whether free or paid, including on websites, social media, newsletters, chat groups, or data platforms;
  • use any Market Data or Outputs to create, train, fine-tune or validate any dataset, index, product, model or AI/machine-learning system, or contribute them to any third-party service;
  • use Market Data or Outputs for any commercial purpose other than the internal purposes permitted for Business Subscribers for a single user under §2;
  • remove, obscure or alter any attribution, citation or proprietary notice displayed in BackRoll or the Markets Hub.

7.4 Share links. BackRoll and the Markets Hub may let you create a link to a results page. Share pages are visible only to logged-in Premium members, show summary Outputs (never underlying series) and may be deleted by us after a period (currently 90 days) or at any time. You are responsible for what you share and for anything you write in portfolio names or notes.

7.5 Data providers protected. Our data licensors (including Finaeon) are intended third-party beneficiaries of this §7 and may enforce it directly. You acknowledge that breach of this §7 causes harm that damages alone cannot remedy, and that we and our licensors may seek injunctive relief in addition to any other remedy. You will indemnify us for licensor claims, losses or licence terminations caused by your breach of this §7.

7.6 No AI training or text-and-data mining — rights expressly reserved. We and our data licensors expressly reserve all rights, including under Article 4 of Directive (EU) 2019/790 and equivalent laws in the United Kingdom and elsewhere, to prohibit any text and data mining (TDM) of the Premium Content, the Market Data and the Outputs. No permission is granted to access, copy, harvest, or mine any part of the service — whether by you, by any automated agent, or by any third party — for the purpose of creating, training, fine-tuning, evaluating, or grounding any artificial-intelligence or machine-learning system, dataset, index or model (including large language models and retrieval systems). This reservation is made both by these Terms and, in machine-readable form, through our robots.txt, TDM-reservation signals and "noai" metadata; it applies regardless of whether a party has agreed to these Terms and regardless of any technical means used to access the content. Any such use is unauthorised and infringes our rights and our licensors’ rights.

7.7 Fair use limits. We may apply reasonable rate limits, usage caps or technical protections, and we log throttling events. Circumventing them is a material breach.

7.8 Survival. Your obligations under this §7 survive cancellation or termination of your Subscription indefinitely.

8. ACCEPTABLE USE (GENERAL)

You must not: interfere with or disrupt the services; probe, scan or test vulnerabilities without written permission; bypass or attempt to bypass rate limits or other technical protections; misrepresent your identity or eligibility (§2); use the services for anything unlawful; or assist anyone else in doing any of the above or in breaching §7.

9. EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE — NO FINANCIAL ADVICE

9.1 All Premium Content, including BackRoll and its Outputs, is provided for informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on the site or in BackRoll is investment advice, a personal recommendation, tax or legal advice, or an invitation or inducement to buy or sell any security. Banker on Wheels is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority or any other financial regulator, and the Premium Content is not a regulated financial promotion.

9.2 We are not your financial adviser, broker or fiduciary, and no client or advisory relationship is created by your Subscription.

9.3 Backtests are hypothetical. BackRoll results are simulations built on historical and partly reconstructed, estimated or simulated data (including scholarly reconstructions of deep history, simulated index backfills net of assumed fees, synthetic currency-hedged series, and blended composites). They do not represent actual trading, ignore some real-world frictions, and involve assumptions that materially affect results. Past performance — actual or simulated — is not a reliable indicator of future results. Monte Carlo, What-If, factor and safe-withdrawal-rate results are projections built from historical data and from assumptions you choose; they are not forecasts, and the probabilities they show are model outputs, not predictions.

9.4 Investing involves risk, including loss of capital. You alone are responsible for your investment decisions. Do your own research and consider professional advice for your personal situation.

10. DATA ACCURACY AND AVAILABILITY

10.1 Market Data and Outputs are provided "as is". Despite extensive quality-control efforts, historical financial data — especially multi-century reconstructions — may contain estimates, gaps, vendor errors and revisions. We do not warrant that any data point, series or Output is accurate, complete or current, and we may correct, restate, clamp or remove data at any time.

10.2 We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free operation. We may suspend the services for maintenance, security or legal reasons, and may modify, replace or discontinue features, including where a data licence or a third-party service (such as hosting, data or payment providers) changes or ends. We do not guarantee that saved sessions, results or share pages are kept; keep your own copies of anything you need.

11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

11.1 Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (including for fraud, or death/personal injury caused by negligence).

11.2 Subject to that, we (and our licensors and suppliers) are not liable for: investment losses or decisions made using the Premium Content; indirect or consequential loss; loss of profit, opportunity, or data; or errors, interruptions or unavailability of the services or Market Data. If you are a Consumer, nothing in this section limits your legal rights, including the right to services performed with reasonable care and skill and to digital content that matches its description.

11.3 Subject to §11.1, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Subscription is limited, per year, to: for the Annual Plan, the fee for the subscription year in which the claim arises; for the Three-Year Plan, one-third of the fee paid for the current term; and for the Lifetime Plan, one-fifth of the Lifetime fee.

12. TERMINATION

12.1 You may cancel per §5. We may suspend or terminate your Subscription immediately, without refund, if you materially breach these Terms — in particular §2 (who may subscribe), §4 (account sharing), §7 (Market Data) or §8 (acceptable use).

12.2 On termination your licence ends and you must cease all use of the Premium Content. Sections 2, 6, 7, 9–11 and 13–18 survive.

13. PRIVACY

Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data. To provide and secure the Subscription we process your account details, your payment status (payments are handled by Stripe; we do not see your full card number), technical data including your IP address, login events, rate-limit and abuse logs, and portfolios and configurations you save in BackRoll if requested by you. Our apps are hosted in the UK or the European Union and backed up with a third-party storage provider under appropriate safeguards. We may review logs where we suspect a breach of §4, §7 or §8, and we delete inactive sessions and results under our retention policy.

14. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time (for example, when adding features or when our data licensors require changes). We will notify subscribers of material changes by email or on-site notice at least 30 days before they take effect; changes apply from the stated effective date, and for paid subscriptions no earlier than is permitted by applicable consumer law.

15. ASSIGNMENT

You may not transfer your Subscription or any rights under these Terms. We may assign these Terms as part of a business transfer, subject to your statutory rights.

16. SEVERABILITY; ENTIRE AGREEMENT; NO WAIVER

If any provision is held invalid, the remainder stays in force. These Terms, the checkout terms, the Coaching Terms and Conditions (for coaching only) and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement for the Subscription, and prevail over the general Bankeronwheels.com Terms and Conditions where they conflict. A failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver. These Terms are provided in English only.

17. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. For Consumers, the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction, and you retain any mandatory protections and forum rights of your country of residence. For Business Subscribers, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you have a complaint, email contact@bankeronwheels.com and we will respond within 14 days.
